Panorama 1453 History Museum
Topkapı Culture Park is located in the area where the Ottoman army surrounded Istanbul against the Topkapı-Edirnekapı walls. It was built by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and opened in 2009. The museum, which stands out as Istanbul’s gateway to history, allows visitors to experience the excitement of the conquest by seeing the soldiers of the conquest, the commander Fatih Sultan Mehmed, the Byzantine army, the shahi cannon that broke the walls, and the witnesses of the conquest accompanied by the sounds of Ottoman military band music and chanting. The paintings in the museum, drawn by eight artists over three years, depict 10,000 figures. The museum has the distinction of being the world’s first fully panoramic museum with a visualization made on a half-sphere with a diameter of 38 meters.
