Rumi Mehmetpasha Mosque

It was founded on a beautiful outskirt of ‹stanbul overlooking the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus, Beyo¤lu and Marmara. It was built of stone and its minaret is on the right. The gate was made of kefeki stone. The construction date was shown on the panel on it as 1471-1472. It is important because it is the first mosque built by the Turks in istanbul. There are two historical candlesticks painted in silver color and two plates by Hattat Arif dated 1309, and Mehmet Sami dated 1307. The south and left sides of the mosque is a cemetary, the mausoleum of Rum Mehmet Pasha is at the front.
